Day four and having a tongue piercing is still awesome, but the part where healing makes you sleepy is really annoying. The only thing making me get out of bed is that really sad face Akaya makes when I don't make him breakfast.

Well, thanks to the apparent lack of proper paperwork and quarantine procedures, a virus has been introduced to Yomi, and several people here have fallen ill from it. Most are exhibiting mild symptoms, but we do have a couple of more severe cases.

I mean, Sanada basically announced it. Not great hearing you confirm it though, pretty sure having a deadly illness floating around in a base where we all share air isn't the best situation to be in.

The thing is, so far, it seems to be an ordinary rhinovirus. A common cold, basically. Healthy people might catch it, feel unwell for a few days to a week, and be on the mend. If someone has a compromised immune system or a respiratory condition like, say, asthma, however, it will be harder for their body to fight it on its own. It's rare that someone gets ill enough to die from this kind of virus, particularly if they're healthy to start with.

And the dead guy had other issues?

Most likely. Though his medical records are...well. Calling them incomplete is an understatement. I've sent a request for the full copy of his records, but we might be better off doing an autopsy.

Yeesh. Makes me feel better that dying was a him problem at least.

It's incredibly unlikely that anyone else will share his fate. I've been going over the medical records of everyone in base to check and see if anyone else managed to get here with such poor records, but so far everyone's are properly intact and through. And those patients who are doing worse than most are being very carefully monitored, just in case.

Good, I deserve a way more glamourous death than space-plague.

Everyone deserves better. And this should never have happened in the first place. Ugh I'm so angry.

They do, and I accept that. But I dunno. This feels more like negligence and this whole situation could have been prevented if someone had just done their job and...

I prefer to think of it as growing up, yes, but....I can't say he's entirely wrong. Under the right set of circumstances, I can't say I wouldn't start throwing punches. But honestly this whole situation is the closest I've been in a long time to feeling like I want to hit someone.

So? Most people would do that if you push them enough. It's about whether you go through your other options first or not. Anyway, sounds like you could use some lavender lol

I took a little time and did some yoga, then meditated for a bit. I'm feeling calmer...but still considering certain options.
